House of Ornira was born from the belief that the smallest details often leave the deepest impression.

Having spent years in Dehradun, surrounded by the mountains of Uttarakhand, and later living in a small town in France during my master's journey. I found myself deeply connected to quiet moments, travel, texture, colour, and memory. For me, the essence of a place has never been purely visual it has always been emotional and sensory.

A memory from travel is often tied to a fragrance, a texture, a shadow, a colour, or simply the feeling of a place at a particular hour of the day. Sometimes it is the scent of flowers carried by the wind, sandalwood lingering near a temple, the aroma of wet stone along the banks of the Ganges in Rishikesh, or the stillness that settles over the water at sunset.

One memory remains especially vivid. During a trek in the mountains of Himachal Pradesh, rain began to fall among tall pine trees. The scent of rain-soaked pine, damp earth, eucalyptus, and cool mountain air filled the path. Surrounded by silence, texture, scent, and shadow, I realised how deeply certain moments stay with us.

Over time, I understood that what remained from every place was rarely the destination itself, but the details attached to it colours borrowed from sunsets and mountains, reflections on water, flowers growing along forgotten paths, the aroma of fresh bakery items drifting through quiet streets in France, the comfort of good chai in the hills, and the small rituals that shape everyday life.

The name Ornira reflects this philosophy. Inspired by the idea of ornamentation and nira, meaning water and flow, it represents objects that move gently through life with us  fluid, timeless, personal, and quietly expressive.

House of Ornira grew from these observations.
